Tibetan Community

Welcome to Tehor Kyiduk, Minnesota

Mission

Our organization’s mission to promote human values, preserve Tibetan Buddhist culture and the environment, and safeguard all aspects of our rich heritage, including language, literature, religion, history, arts, crafts, and traditions for the future generations.

Goals

The Tehor Tibetan Organization of Minnesota, a registered nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status, was established in the early 2000s by Tibetan Tehor immigrants. Our community, consisting of approximately 300 members primarily residing in the Twin Cities area, comprises individuals who have traversed challenging journeys from Tibet to India and eventually to the United States. Given Tibet’s status as one of the least-free countries globally, our members carry a unique cultural heritage that necessitates preservation. With a strong commitment to preserving Tibetan cultural identity, our organization seeks to address the cultural and social needs of our community, especially the younger generation.

Vision

The organization represents a transformative opportunity to strengthen the social fabric of the Tehor Tibetan community in Minnesota and advance our mission of cultural preservation and enrichment. By investing in this project, we affirm our commitment to promoting human values, preserving Tibetan Buddhist culture and the environment, and safeguarding our unique cultural heritage for generations to come.
